Syndicate
MGV Capital Syndicate
Backing founders beyond the limits of a single fund.
MGV Capital backs founders rebuilding the real economy—from the built environment and the movement of goods and people to the flow of data and information. Our syndicate extends that work, bringing investors alongside us on a company-by-company basis.
Why we do it
Good companies don’t always fit neatly within a fund’s mandate or timing. An opportunity might sit outside its investment scope. A portfolio company might raise a later round. Or a founder we know might be building between our fund cycles.
The syndicate gives us another way to support those companies without changing the commitments we’ve made to our fund investors.
It also lets us bring relevant people around the table—not just capital, but investors whose operating experience, relationships and industry knowledge can help a company move forward.
Who it serves
Investors
Open to accredited and/or sophisticated investors, subject to applicable eligibility requirements.
Our approach is straightforward: explain why a company interests us, where the risks are and how we believe we can help. Investors assess each opportunity independently, based on their own circumstances and judgement.
Founders
For founders, the syndicate provides another potential path to capital and relevant experience through MGV.
That might mean bringing additional investors into a round, supporting a later financing or considering a company that fits our expertise but falls outside a particular fund’s mandate.
Our focus remains the same: understanding the business, asking useful questions and helping beyond the cheque.
How it sits alongside our funds
Our funds invest committed capital within defined mandates. The syndicate considers opportunities individually.
The two are complementary, but participation in the syndicate is not a commitment to an MGV fund. Any investment is subject to its own eligibility requirements, terms and documentation.
