MGV Capital Website Privacy Policy
Effective date: 22 October 2026
Last updated: 22 October 2026
1. Who we are
This Privacy Policy explains how Metagrove Ventures, LLC, a Delaware limited liability company, which does business as MGV Capital (formerly Metagrove Ventures) ("MGV", "we", "us" or "our"), collects, uses, shares and protects personal information when you visit https://metagrove.vc or any page that links to this policy (the "Site"), submit a pitch, sign up for updates, or contact us by email.
MGV manages pre-seed and seed venture capital funds, including related general partner and limited partnership entities. For this policy, MGV is the "controller" (under the GDPR and UK GDPR), the "business" (under US state privacy laws), and the "APP entity" (under the Australian Privacy Act 1988) for the personal information described here.
This policy covers our website and related communications only. Communications with existing investors in any MGV fund, and how their information is handled, are governed by that fund's offering and subscription documents and any separate investor privacy notice, not by the website.

2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you give us
- Contact details: your name, email address, phone number, company name, job title, LinkedIn or other profile links, and location.
- Pitch materials: when you use the "Pitch Us" form or send us a pitch by email, we collect what you submit. This can include your pitch deck, company name and website, sector, stage, funding sought, traction and financial metrics, information about founders and team members (such as names, backgrounds and roles), cap table information, and any other documents or notes you choose to include.
- Optional newsletter: if you subscribe to our optional newsletter about portfolio and company news, your email address, name and subscription preferences.
- Correspondence: the content of emails and other messages you send us, and our replies.
Please do not submit sensitive information (such as health data, government identifiers, or information about racial or ethnic origin, religious beliefs or sexual orientation) through the Site. If your pitch includes personal information about other people, such as co-founders or employees, you confirm that you are allowed to share it with us and that they know you are doing so.
2.2 Information collected automatically
When you use the Site, we and our service providers may automatically collect:
- Device and usage data: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device type, language settings, referring URL, pages viewed, time spent on pages, links clicked, and the date and time of your visit.
- Approximate location: country or city, inferred from your IP address.
- Cookie and similar technology data: see Section 9 (Cookies and similar technologies).
- Email engagement data: if you receive our newsletter, whether you opened it and which links you clicked.
2.3 Information from other sources
We may receive information about you from co-investors, accelerators, other founders, mutual contacts who introduce you, and publicly available sources such as company websites, LinkedIn, Crunchbase, PitchBook, news articles and company registries. We use it to evaluate investment opportunities and to manage our relationships.
3. How we use your information and our legal bases
| Purpose | Examples | Legal basis (EEA/UK) |
|---|---|---|
| Reviewing pitches and investment opportunities | Assessing your company, doing due diligence, comparing opportunities, keeping a record of deal flow | Legitimate interests (running our investment business). Steps taken at your request before any agreement. |
| Responding to enquiries | Replying to emails and form submissions | Legitimate interests. Steps taken at your request. |
| Network and partner relations | Communicating with founders, co-investors, accelerators and other partners about startups and portfolio companies | Legitimate interests |
| Sending our optional newsletter | Portfolio and company news and thesis content. It never includes information about fund offerings. | Consent (you can withdraw at any time) |
| Operating and improving the Site | Hosting, security, troubleshooting, understanding how the Site is used | Legitimate interests. Consent for non-essential cookies where required. |
| Security and fraud prevention | Detecting spam, abuse and malicious activity | Legitimate interests |
| Legal and regulatory compliance | Recordkeeping, responding to lawful requests, enforcing our Terms of Use | Legal obligation. Legitimate interests. |
The Site and our newsletter are not used to offer or promote interests in any fund. Communications with existing fund investors (such as reports, capital calls and tax documents) are handled under the relevant fund's documents, not through the Site.
Where we rely on legitimate interests, we have weighed our interests against your rights and freedoms. You can ask us for more information about this balancing test, and you can object (see Section 10).
We do not use your personal information for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects on you. Our team makes investment decisions. We may use software tools, including AI-assisted tools, to help organise and summarise pitch materials, but a person reviews submissions.
4. How we share your information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We share personal information only as follows:
- Service providers: companies that help us run the Site and our business, such as website hosting, form and file-upload tools, email and newsletter platforms, CRM and deal-flow software, cloud storage, and analytics providers. Our current service providers are Vercel (website hosting and Vercel Web Analytics) and Airtable (storing pitch submissions and related data). They may use your information only to provide services to us.
- Co-investors and partners, with your consent: we may want to introduce your company to co-investors, syndicate partners, accelerators or other funds. We will ask for your permission before we share your pitch materials outside MGV for this purpose.
- Our team and advisers: our principals, employees, venture partners, advisers and contractors who are involved in evaluating opportunities, all of whom must keep information confidential. Professional advisers such as lawyers, accountants, auditors and fund administrators may also receive information where needed.
- Affiliated entities: MGV's related management, general partner and fund entities.
- Legal and safety reasons: when we believe disclosure is required by law, regulation, subpoena or court order, or is needed to protect the rights, property or safety of MGV, our investors, portfolio companies, users or others.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganisation, fund succession, or sale of all or part of our business or assets, subject to appropriate confidentiality protections.
- With your direction: in any other case where you ask us to share, or agree to it.
We may share aggregated or de-identified information that cannot reasonably identify you.
5. International transfers
MGV is a US (Delaware) business. Our principal is based in Sydney, Australia, and our service providers, including Vercel and Airtable, may process data in the United States, Australia, the European Union and other countries. As a result, your personal information may be transferred to, stored in, and accessed from countries other than your own, including countries whose data protection laws may differ from those in your country.
When we transfer personal information out of the EEA, UK or Switzerland to a country that has not been found to provide adequate protection, we use appropriate safeguards. These include the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, or the transfer of data to recipients certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and its UK and Swiss extensions. You can ask us for a copy of the relevant safeguards.
For Australian residents: when we disclose personal information to overseas recipients (including in the United States), we take reasonable steps to ensure the recipients handle it in a way that is consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
6. How long we keep your information
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy, unless the law requires or allows a longer period. As a guide:
- Pitch decks and submission materials: 2 years from the date we receive them. After that, we securely delete or dispose of them. You can ask us to delete your submission earlier (see Section 10).
- Newsletter data: until you unsubscribe, plus a short period to record your opt-out.
- Correspondence: for as long as needed to manage our relationship and meet recordkeeping duties.
- Analytics data: analytics data is aggregated and kept for no longer than 24 months.
- Records we must keep by law: for the period the relevant law requires.
When we no longer need the information, we delete it or de-identify it.
7. How we protect your information
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect personal information. These include encryption in transit, access controls, multi-factor authentication on key systems, and limiting access to people who need it. However, no website, internet transmission or storage system is completely secure. We cannot guarantee the security of information you send us, and you do so at your own risk. If we become aware of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you and the regulators as the law requires.
8. Children
The Site is intended for business professionals and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 (or under 16 in the EEA and UK). If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
9. Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device. We and our service providers use cookies, pixels and similar technologies for the following purposes:
- Strictly necessary: to run the Site, keep it secure, and remember your cookie choices. These cannot be switched off.
- Analytics: to understand how visitors use the Site, such as the pages they visit and how they found us, so that we can improve it. We use Vercel Web Analytics. It is designed to work without setting cookies and to measure visits in aggregate, without building a profile of you across sites.
- Functional: to remember preferences and enable embedded content such as forms, scheduling tools or videos.
We do not use advertising or retargeting cookies.
Your choices:
- The Site currently uses only strictly necessary cookies and cookieless analytics, so no cookie consent banner is needed today. If we introduce non-essential cookies, we will ask for your consent where the law requires it (including in the EEA and UK), and we will add a cookie settings link to the Site footer so that you can change your choice at any time.
- You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of the Site may not work properly if you do.
- We honour Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as a valid opt-out request where the law requires it.
- Some browsers send "Do Not Track" signals. There is no common standard for responding to them, so we do not currently respond to them, except where we treat them as GPC signals.
10. Your privacy rights
Your rights depend on where you live. We will respond to valid requests within the time the applicable law requires. Whatever law applies, you can always unsubscribe from our newsletter using the link in any email, and you can ask us to withdraw a pitch submission.
10.1 EEA and UK residents (GDPR and UK GDPR)
You have the right to:
- access your personal information and receive a copy of it;
- correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
- erase your information ("right to be forgotten") in certain circumstances;
- restrict our processing in certain circumstances;
- object to processing based on legitimate interests, and to direct marketing at any time;
- data portability, meaning you can receive your information in a structured, machine-readable format;
- withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent. This does not affect the lawfulness of earlier processing; and
- complain to your local data protection authority. In the UK, this is the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). In the EEA, it is the supervisory authority of the country where you live or work, or where the alleged breach took place.
EU and UK representative: individuals in the EEA or UK can contact us directly at legal@metagrove.vc. Where the law requires it, we will appoint a representative in the EU and/or UK under Article 27 of the GDPR or UK GDPR and name them in this policy.
10.2 California and other US state residents
If you live in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon or another US state with a comprehensive privacy law, and that law applies to us, you may have the right to:
- know and access the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources, the purposes, and the categories of third parties we disclose it to;
- delete personal information we collected from you;
- correct inaccurate personal information;
- opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information, targeted advertising, and certain profiling. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined, and we have not done so in the past 12 months;
- limit the use of sensitive personal information. We do not use sensitive personal information for purposes that would give rise to this right;
- appeal if we decline your request, where your state law provides this right; and
- not face discrimination for exercising your rights.
Categories collected in the past 12 months (CCPA/CPRA):
- identifiers (name, email address, IP address);
- professional or employment-related information (company, title, background);
- commercial information about your company contained in pitch materials;
- internet or other electronic network activity (usage and cookie data);
- approximate geolocation; and
- inferences drawn to evaluate investment fit.
These come from the sources described in Section 2, are used for the purposes in Section 3, and are disclosed to the categories of recipients in Section 4. We keep them for the periods in Section 6.
You may use an authorised agent to make a request. We may ask for proof of the agent's authority and verify your identity directly. California "Shine the Light": we do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes.
10.3 Australian residents (Privacy Act 1988 and the APPs)
We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles. You may:
- access the personal information we hold about you (APP 12);
- ask us to correct it (APP 13);
- deal with us anonymously or using a pseudonym where this is lawful and practical. For example, you can browse the Site without identifying yourself, but we usually cannot assess a pitch anonymously;
- opt out of direct marketing at any time (APP 7); and
- complain about how we have handled your personal information.
To make a complaint, contact us first using the details in Section 13. We will acknowledge it promptly and aim to respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
10.4 Other locations
If you live elsewhere, you may have similar rights under local law. Contact us and we will consider your request in line with the laws that apply.
11. How to exercise your rights
To make a request, email legal@metagrove.vc with the subject line "Privacy Request", or write to us at c/o Legalinc Corporate Services Inc. (registered agent), 131 Continental Dr, Suite 305, Newark, DE 19713, USA. Please tell us what you are asking for and which jurisdiction you live in.
To protect your information, we may need to verify your identity before we act on a request, for example by asking you to confirm details from the email address we have on file. We will not ask for more information than we need. We may decline a request where the law allows, such as where it is manifestly unfounded or excessive, or where we must keep the information for legal reasons. If we decline, we will tell you why.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to tell you, for example by posting a notice on the Site or emailing newsletter subscribers. Where the law requires your consent to a change, we will ask for it. Please review this policy regularly.
