/mentors/

Our mentors are rockstars of industry. They are domain experts and key folks who are able to move the needle and create impact.

If you've got what it takes to be a Mentor, we want to hear from you!

Your application will be assessed by the core team and if it's a right fit, the team will reach out to you.

Our bar is high, but the reward is even higher — you'll be actively involved in working with our portfolio companies if there's a match and perhaps get some carry along the way. The more you help, the better chance they have to grow and succeed.

You will work with diverse founders across Australia, NZ, the US and South East Asia, across a variety of industries. These founders will need help and they're looking for the best to support them in their journey.

FAQs

Why do you have mentors?

No one knows everything. We at Metagrove certainly are humble enough to know that the best way to help our founders/companies is through community. This is why we are curating a panel of domain experts/operators from Silicon Valley to APAC to help and support us. With their skills and experience, we can now accelerate a company’s growth that wouldn’t otherwise be available for our founders.

What do I need to be a mentor?

Skills. Anyone can be a mentor, but we prefer those who are domain experts and also who have been exposed to startups and been involved with high-growth companies.

What sort of domains expertise do I need to have?

We generally look for folks who have expertise across a startup’s growth phase. These primarily include;

  • Technology development/leadership

  • Product-market-fit

  • Go-to-market strategy

  • Operations

  • Sales

  • Customer success

  • Hiring/recruitment

  • Fundraising

  • Finance

If you have any of the above, then please reach out!

How do you pair a mentor with the founder(s)?

The match-making is done by the Metagrove team. When the founders join our portfolio, they will be presented with a comprehensive list of all our mentors including their background, expertise, and skillset. The founders will then be able to pick and choose from the list. We will then reach out to those mentors for an intro. If both sides accept, then they can begin working together.

How do you help founders with their needs?

Aside from our curated match-making, we also send out request blasts to our mentors to quickly gauge if there’s mentors out there who can help in specific domains for four founders. If we get a strong response from some mentors, then we’ll do an intro to see if there’s a right fit.

How much time/effort does a mentor put in?

It’s up to the mentor and the founders to negotiate. Mentors can put in from a few hours per week to becoming part-time and beyond. The mentors have the opportunity to put in as little or as much time as they desire.

How do I apply?

You can register your interest here. We’ll reach out if your profile is a match for us and our companies.
